Dr. Tamara Mathison

Despite experiencing "perfect" 20/20 vision in childhood, Dr. Tamara Mathison underwent vision therapy to address an eye muscle imbalance. This experience instilled in her the understanding that prescribing glasses for clear vision is just one part of comprehensive vision correction.

Mathison was raised in Bismarck, North Dakota, and initially pursued an undecided career in health or education at Concordia College. During her pursuit of a secondary life science teaching degree, she discovered her true calling while working with a student facing learning and vision disabilities. Optometry emerged as the ideal intersection of her healthcare and education interests.

After obtaining her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR, in 1990, she joined Dr. Keith Prentice and Dr. Don Caine's practice in Jamestown, now Lifetime Vision.

Her primary objective is to assist every patient in achieving optimal comfort and clarity in their vision while ensuring the ongoing health of their eyes. Dr. Mathison also embraces the challenge of tailoring solutions to meet each patient's unique visual needs.

Beyond the office, Tamara channels her passion into the kitchen, delighting in exploring and preparing new cuisines for family and friends. Additionally, she finds joy in reading, gardening, and camping by Lake Williams.
